BBMP - The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike is the administrative body responsible for civic amenities and some infrastructural assets of the Greater Bangalore metropolitan area. It is the fourth largest Municipal Corporation in India being responsible for a population of 8.4 million in an area of 741 km²

BDA - The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) of Bangalore, India, is a governmental organization (referred to within India as a parastatal entity) and the principal planning authority for Bangalore. Its function, under the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act of 1961, is as a regulatory body required "to prepare in the prescribed manner a Comprehensive Development Plan" for the Bangalore metropolitan region. It also oversees planning and development of infrastructure, provision of development-related sites and services, the housing needs of underprivileged citizens in Bangalore and is currently the city's largest land developer. No other authority or person may undertake development within the Bangalore Metropolitan Region without the permission of the BDA.

BMRDA - Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority is an autonomous body created by the Government of Karnataka under the BMRDA Act 1985 for the purpose of planning, coordinating and supervising the proper and orderly development of the areas within the Bangalore Metropolitan Region (BMR) which comprises Bangalore Urban district, Bangalore Rural district and Ramanagara District. Since 2007, BMRDA covers an area of 8,005 km (4,974 mi), the second largest metropolitan area in India ,after the Amaravati Metropolitan Region. Bangalore has also emerged as India's fifth largest metropolitan city by population (also the third largest city proper by population). Unlike the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), the BMRDA does not have the power to acquire land.

BMICAPA - Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Area Planning Authority - The BMICAPA Planning Area comprises BMIC Project Area and its environs. The total area is 701.01 Sq.kms. The BMICP comprises five self sustainable new townships viz., Corporate Township, Commercial Township, Industrial Township, Heritage Township & Eco-Tourism Township, 111 kms. of Expressway between Bangalore & Mysore, 41 kms. of Peripheral Road connecting NH 4 and NH 7 on the southern segment of Bangalore and about 9 kms. of Link Road connecting west of Chord Road/Mysore Road junction and “O’’ point of the Expressway. It also includes interchanges at the junction of main, arterial and major roads.

BMRCL - Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), a joint venture of Government of India and the State Government of Karnataka, is the agency for building, operating and expanding the Namma Metro network
KIADB - Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) is a statutory body, constituted under sec.5 of Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Act (KIAD Act)-1966 vide order No. Cl 67 GMI 66 dated 20th June 1966 to promote rapid and orderly establishment and development of industries and for providing industrial infrastructural facilities and other amenities in Industrial areas in the State of Karnataka. KIAD Act-1966, a special Act, provides for expeditious acquisition of lands for industrial and infrastructure purposes.

CITB - City Improvement Trust Board has developed a number of residential extension schemes in different parts of the City on a planned basis and has met a considerable part of the demand for developed house sites. Besides developing residential sites, the C.I.T.B. developed an industrial suburb and also took up road widening schemes - an important road being the B.V.K. Iyengar Road .
